Executive Director
Manuel Hernández-Nuñez is the inaugural Executive Director of the Association of Latinos/as/xs Motivating Action. As Executive Director, Manuel oversees the day-to-day operations, programming, and development of the organization. He has nearly a decades worth of experience as a content expert in organizational leadership, DE&I, funds development, and community building across the non-profit, small business, and education sectors. A New York City native and proud gay Borinkeño, Manuel now calls Chicago home.

Programs Manager
Alfredo Flores is a proud Chicagoan born and raised in Little Village. As Programs Coordinator, Alfredo oversees the management and coordination of all programming.
He has 10 years of experience in community organizing, HIV prevention outreach, and program management.
HERA JAY BROWN

Communications Specialist
Hera Jay Brown has a desire to advance the rights of and protections for marginalized communities around the globe which remains the core driver throughout all of her work. She has received multiple awards and recognitions for her work including the Fulbright-Schuman Graduate Research Fellowship, the Rhodes Scholarship, the Rhodes Service Year Award, the University of Tennessee's Chancellor's Medallion, and the Gilman International Scholarship to Jordan. Hera was the first openly transgender woman to be named a Rhodes Scholar.
As the Communications Specialist, Hera works on ensuring ALMA's messaging is clear, concise, and centered around the communities we serve.

Community Engagement Specialist
Elizeth Arguelles is a dedicated community organizer with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by low-income and marginalized communities. Growing up in Little Village, she witnessed firsthand the struggles that many families endure. Over the past 7 years, Elizeth has actively worked on the South West side of Chicago, collaborating with local organizations to provide essential resources and leadership opportunities to youth and their families.
As part of the ALMA team, Elizeth intentionally engages with the Latinx LGBTQ+ community, leveraging her expertise and commitment to create positive change.
